What horrible playing by Detroit tonight. They shot themselves in the foot by way too many turnover, not enough pressure on fleury, and not using the boards to their advantage.
Also, the hockey gods were on Fleury's side, because he was playing with more than human inspiration on a couple of those saves. Also, that post shot in the 3rd period? Oh man.

No kidding. I didn't even want him in the regular season. I sincerely hope that Detroit does not sign him again. What a useless waste of ice.

A reminder to all Detroit Red Wings fans currently dumping on Marian Hossa.

That was so close..I'm pretty sure he didn't even see that shot, either.

Yes, but when you choke the way he did against his former team in the Stanley Cup..it was terrible. Yes, he had an awesome regular season, but when you can't perform in the clutch, all they are are meaningless stats, like A-Rod.

All in all..I'm not sure what happened to the Wings aggressiveness on offense in games 6 and 7. You would think, the way they were up, and especially the way they played in game 5 that they would have come on out on fire, lighting up Fluery with shots, and play more agressive, because they were up by a game. But I guess not.

Like its been said, the Wings didn't play these final two games with nearly the intensity and desire to win that the Penguins had, and thats why they desrved it. I'm predicting this to turn into a best of 3 series though, and the Wings will be back next year.

They aren't meaningless when they get your team to where they are. If you don't want him, there's a place for him in San Jose...

Or Minnesota. We apparently offered him a huge contract that he turned down before.
