| My insight on Metallica is that they systematically destroyed the wonders of Napster. They will never be forgiven in my heart, but I never liked their music anyways.
Please don't reply with "so what if they destroyed Napster". There is so much more to it. If you really want me to explain than I will, if not I won't waste the screen.

| in a way, we are better off now with napster gone, so many better programmes have sprung up in it's place, and made the field competitive, meaning constant improvement.... |

| The main reasom Metalica wanted an end to Napster is because they were losing money. Those dudes are freakin rich. Music is not about how much money you make anyways. They should have just quit whinning about it. If I was in a band I would want something like Napster. What a great way to let people hear your music.

They didn't want people downloading whole albums for free; I'm a musician and I understand. They have no problem with people wanting to try the music, but, and especially with the rise in sales of portable mp3 players, people would get whole albums without paying one penny.
Now, granted, they are fairly rich, but they were an underground band the first half of their career. A very, very poor underground band. So poor that Anthrax gave them a microwave & mini fridge. They deserve every penny they make.
Another thing, Metallica was the only band that had the (pardon my french) balls to stand up for their music, while bands like Limp Bizkit (and on a side not, Durst disapporved of full file sharing, but being the businessman that he is, he used the whole issue as a publicity stunt), while they agreed to a degree, wouldn't say anything. As a matter of fact, many, many other bands supported Metallica's decision, but they didn't have the guts to come out and say it. You can find a list of all the bands somewhere, but that's besides the point.
It was a publicity stunt for the pro-Napster side, and Metallica didn't care what people think, they did what they felt was right.
"If doing what we want to do, if making the music we want to make is 'selling out', then so be it." --Cliff Burton. |

| Lets think about this another way. If you were working in McDonalds, and you got to the end of your shift, and went to check your bank balance, and didnt find anything in there, would you be happy? Or if you found less than you were owed for your work? I know I wouldn't. Just because Metallica don't work 9-5 doesnt mean they can have their wages stolen.
QUOTE]What a great way to let people hear your music[/QUOTE]
When you are a famous band, you don't care about letting people hear your music, they come and find the music themselves, you don't have to advertise it. MP3 publishing of music is only useful for bands trying to break through. |

Blessings,
Andy | That songs is about the death of James's mother. She had cancer, and she could have been helped. But she insisted that God would save her, and she wouldn't let the doctors help her when she had a chance to live. So she died, and that's what that song is about.

Just to see if there's more behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel,

| That very well may be the case. But it doesn't mean that God is a failure simply because his mom died.
Another song I dislike is Lepher Messiah.
I used to LOVE Metallica...but then I got saved.
=[
Blessings,
Andy

Blessings,
Andy | Leper Messiah is telling a story about a man that used religion to get rich quick.
I can't stand it when people make something bad out of this stuff
