It's also only 60w, but I'm not that concerned about lower wattage.
Does this one look like a better deal? Or if they still have an AT-212 on the shelf, would it be better to get it and replace the speakers? | IIRC, the AT and ST series are different. I'm not sure why the AT-212 is no longer on the GC website. |

I know when I e-mailed B-52 about them they said that Guitar Center was no longer the sole distributor, but that they weren't discontinued. Of course, that was months ago too.

The ST-212 is also the only ST series that GC seems to carry. Quote:

I found the head at the Guitar Center two hours away from me, but they had no combos.

#20 | | Moderator | Alright...I got to try out the B-52 AT-212 pretty extensively at GC today, and I'm really liking it...it had excellent distortion, even at low volumes, and I could get a good variety of tones...I also LOVED the clean channel, it was phenomenal. The speakers were the customs, which was a little bit of a downer, but they didn't start breaking up or getting noisy until the volume was at around 7-8, which is too loud for anything but maybe a stadium. It could've drowned out a drummer at around 4. I was able to play using a Schecter pretty much identical to mine, and also a EMG-loaded Schecter, and both sounded great. Also, it's about $200 cheaper than the ST on the website, it comes in at $576, and I could probably get it down considering how much I've bought there. At that price I could also upgrade my pickups and/or pick up a Jekyll and Hyde and still undercut most used Mesas.
So....I'm thinking that's the route I'll take, as of right now.

All of them have effects loops, even the really cheap ones, so it'd work good with a few good pedals. And the clean channel is AMAZING. I have the RG60 which was $200. They've got a half-stack for $500. I will warn you the clean channel doesn't work well with distortion pedals. But the overdrive channel has a great clean sound if u keep the gain low, and it works great with dist boxes. And if u crank the gain it gets a great dirty sound. And as far as pedals go, nothing beats the Line 6 X3 Floor Pod. It's a digital effects system, so it's a little complicated, but since you can make presets with all kinds of effects all set and ready to go, you can turn several effects on and off with the touch of one footswitch. kidna hard 2 explain so you'd just have to try it out.
So if u get the Raven RG100 (100 watts of power two 12" speakers, PERFECT!!!), and thee X3 floor pod, you'd be left $200 under budget ($300 amp, $500 pedal set)
hope this helps u can email me or somethin if u wanna know more. | I appreciate the suggestions, but I'm sorta looking for a tube amp...and I've got a floor moder right now, so I don't need another yet.
Thanks though
