#16 | | intentionally left blank. | I think Oolong is my favorite type, overall. I like a good black and a good green, but I'm just most partial to oolong.
Favorites:
Ti Kuan Yin oolong
Sencha green (only a really good one, because all others just seem... lacking)
Genmai chah (brown rice tea)
Lychee black
These are roughly in the order of my preference. If any of the four are offered to me, I will drink up quite happily. Other teas I like are Twinings Irish Breakfast and a good peppermint tea. The peppermint needs to be very, very sparsely used, and the green tea flavor needs to poke through. I have one teabag left of a good Korean peppermint tea I picked up awhile back, and that was probably the best peppermint tea I've ever had. Quote:

If you haven't grown up on it, you need to kind of gently introduce it. A brand that doesn't put a ton of the flowers in would be a good start. And the amount of water you use to steep the leaves needs to be adjusted also, because the flowers have such a strong flavor. Even then, the stuff isn't for everyone.
IIRC, you had an Adagio container of your jasmine green. In my experience, Adagio puts out pretty good teas, but not necessarily the best. It's a perfect setup for checking out a wide variety of different things, and their leaf quality really is excellent (fairly good leaf cuts, minimal branches and dirt). However, jasmine tea is probably just one of those things you have to go to a hole-in-the-wall tea shop in Chinatown for a better selection. I don't drink it much anymore myself, but I do remember my mom going to Clement and Chinatown for her teas when I was little.

| I prefer a straight Darjeeling I prefer a straight Darjeeling- nice and smooth, a far cry from the overly bitter character of Earl Grey (sorry). Yerba Mate, while another tisane, is pretty good, and so is rooibos. For oolong teas, |

| Darjeeling Tea by Bigelow is really good. It's really good brewed for iced tea.
I also buy a lot of fairtrade tea from the local 10,000 villages here. |

| Mmmm lychee tea!!!
Also, I'm wild about taro root milk tea (with boba!), but then again, I'll drink just about any tea if it has boba in it. Other than that, I'm a fan of Earl Grey and my homemade cranberry ginger tea.

| Ooh also, Numi makes a Smoky Tarry tea (a great lapsang souchong) which, in my opinion, is *horrible* for drinking, but awesome for marinading meats!

~Lady Croft | Speaking of Boba Tea's....
A lovely combo is Taro & Coconut. Mmmhmm.
We discovered a lovely green tea at the healthfood store.
Gunpowder Green Tea. The tea leaves are roasted and form little tea balls, which open when you brew it. It's quite delicious. |

| Some of my favorite teas:
Genmai tea
Kopili Assam tea
All the oolong teas I have tried
I've recently started drinking Pu-erh tea, which is pretty good. Very earthy flavor. I'm not sure if the kind I'm drinking is real Pu-erh tea, it's the yamamotoyama brand. |
