I was wondering if anyone, by chance competed in speech and drama competitions when they were in High School (or still compete in them.) The events in these competitions are different for different states, but I'm mostly talking about dramatic and humorous interpretation, duet acting, prose, poetry, etc. Here in Texas we compete in TFA (Texas Forensic Association) and I mostly do DI, HI, duet, and oratory. Speech and drama is a pretty big part of my life (I'm actually about to start doing mock trial) and I'm wondering if anyone participates in competitions...

I used to compete in Prose when I was in high school, though I did Duo once...we were in MIFA (Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Assosciation). It was really fun and great for improving acting skills--when you only get a chair or stool as a prop and have to play 9 other characters as they enter your story things get interesting! :-)

Hey, I do TFA...

Mostly I've done poetry...I did one duet scene in November...that same competition I did impromptu speaking and that is FUN!

Yeah, I do expos, duo, and oratorical interp, and am considering doing HI next year.
