why are the people who play it, on tv, always older and nerd looking?

i hardly ever see older people play it on social nights, mostly younger guys

Most of the older people I know who are into bowling are in bowling leagues or do it during off hours.

Bowling, IMO, is more of a skill than a sport. My sister and her ex-husband were both amateur bowlers. It isn't that easy to go pro. The people are there because they have been doing this a really long time, and have gotten really good at it.
