Youth group worship team

hey this is something i encoutered in my youth group worship team. we had a senior in high school who loves playing guitar and sing just like i do but the one huge difference between us was the heart when ever i got up on stage to practice or to lead worship i have a humble heart but when ever my freind did it always seamed to me that it was all for him self and not for God so eventually we had to let him go. Does anyone have a comment on this or was it a good decission.

Did anyone ever talk to him about how he appeared?

what kind of things did he do that made it seem like he was only playing for himself?

This is a difficult issue. Its always better to be more discerning prior to makeing an appointment. But often people do not reveal themselves untill afterways.

The question that we should be thinking abaout is what spiritual atributes do we look for in team members.

What would you look for?

steve

PS I'll have a think and post later.

Yeah, none of us can really offer advice unless we know what about his performance made you question his heart. The manner in which you confronted him would also make a difference.
