I need to look for a job, too.
My church is roasting a pig on the beach tonight. Seriously. My church has a pig roast. And I'm feeling sick. Like, stomach sick. I've been feeling like this all week. I hope I feel better in a few hours. :/

| Oh man, I wish my church had a pig roast. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well; I'll keep that in my prayers. |

| Measaim gur subhach don Mhumhain an fhuaim
And it seems to me the news is welcome in Munster* 'S dá maireann go dubhach de chrú na mbua And for the downtrodden race of victors Torann na dtonn le sleasaibh na long The waves crashing down along the sides of vessels
Ag tarraingt go teann 'n-ár gceann ar cuairt Drawing baldly on a visit to us. The above is the chorus of the song Rosc Catha na Mumhain - The Battle Hymn of Munster. Munster (Mumhan, i nGaelige) is the southernmost of the traditional four (or five if you count Meath, which was subsumed into Leinster) provinces or Kingdoms of Ireland, composing counties Clare, Cork, Tipperary, Kerry, Limerick, and Waterford. My ancestors, the Lahey family, hail from Co. Cork (Chontae Corcaigh) and likely would have spoken a dialect of Munster Irish.
I don't know if the Irish in this song is distinctly Munster Irish (all the dialects of Irish are mutually intelligible, with Ulster Irish, spoken in places like Co. Donegal being very similar to Scottish Gaelic) - and if it is I've probably butchered it enough that it's what I like to call 'noob Irish'. but it's a Munster song. Alas.
Enjoy.

| hey Ryan, I was also recently displaced, though by a storm and not a poor and capricious landlord. God has provided for me, whether through friends' couches or (for the next two weeks) an apartment some friends of mine are leaving vacant.
I will pray He provides for you as well, and hope your housing search goes well.
Good to see you back. |

| 2 days before I have to move out.
Push come to shove I'll just move into a hotel for a couple of days. There's one that has told me they won't require ID of me (which is good because I lost mine). But there are a couple of places that I might have a chance of getting into. So we'll see.
Please pray.

It's not preferable, but I'd prefer not to waste a couple hundred dollars on a motel. I went there one night and it was awful, but that was because I had nowhere to go during the day - at the time I was fleeing a situation I percieved as abusive.
The money my landlord is giving me I really need to use to pay off a couple of debts and pay rent for the month, so really, paying for a motel room is not an option.

| So Don, our church's administrator/secretary is supposed to be getting back to me about a place for me to stay for a few days. I told him I don't feel safe at the shelter and I wasn't kidding. Last time I was there someone threatened my life.
In other news...I don't get Christians who think that being a permanent soldier is a viable living. Christ's command is to love your neighbor, not murder them.

| If you want to move down to Texas I'm sure we could get you a bus ticket or a flight from Southwest, and my air mattress is quite comfortable. But I have a feeling you're not wanting to emigrate.

| I have a similar troubles with it. Down here in the southeast of Texas, there are plenty of members of the military who are Christians. And many of the ones I know appear to really be connected to Christ and desire to love and follow Him. And yet they volunteer to go to another country and meddle, and likely kill. I don't know for sure, except that I am conflicted.
