2008 Olympics !!!SPOILERS!!!

Im very excited about the USA's chances in this years Olympics and I cant wait to watch them.I think our basketball team can really do it this year.We seem to have a better defense then in '04 and '06 with still a lot of offense.Anyone else excited?

For those CGRers outside of the US how do you feel about your nations chances?

As a big sports fan I don't think it would be possible for me to care any less about the Olympics. I enjoy the winter Olympics, but I can't find anything (maybe other than basketball) to intrigue me to watch. In any case, GO CANADA!

Well you're missing out. I'm not a huge Olympics guy, but there is a lot better than the basketball. I find the winter games more interesting too, though.

So... I love the Olympics. I am a huge fan. I'll be watching quite intently, and making some room on my DVR. I will watch every single swimming event, and all of of the shorter track events with great interest, as well as most of the field events. I will also watch Basketball and baseball, and hopefully the US will get into the medal round in Softball.

On August 8, I become the biggest Phelps fan around.

I really love the Olympics that much.

no idea, but I agree with everyone who said the winter Olympics are much better...
I find no interest in baseball, Watching Michael Phelps kill everyone else at swimming gets old, I guess I could watch basketball, but who knows...
now, watching Canada dominate in ice hockey, much more fun!

Well he does have some competition, which makes it pretty interesting to me. But the real story is his possiblity to win 8 gold medals. Even though he is dominant, such a feat is ridiculously difficult. It's kind of like watching Tiger Woods tracking down Nicklaus's record. he wins one or two majors every year but I still won't believe it until I see number 18. Looking back it seems like it has been easy for him; he wins all the time. But that doesn't take away from the suspense.
