Trenches signed to Solid State.

Trenches (a.k.a. Jimmy Ryan's new band) has signed to Solid State. Though as far I as I'm concerned they were signed as soon as they started....Jimmy Ryan and Solid State kind of go hand in hand.

And since I could, theoretically, be lying, although that would be ridiculous and pointless, here's a link to their blog.

I'm not a huge fan, really. But some folks get mighty excited about that there Jimmy Ryan fella.

I was hoping they sounded bad because all of their songs were demos...but this is "mastered". Some of the earlier really weren't that terrible thet just sounded crappy, but this...sounds terrible because it is.

What I heard didn't sound that bad, but was pretty boring nonetheless. (Not quite as bad as other bands on the label *cough* MyChildren MyBride!! *cough*)

Solid State goes farther down the tube with every band they sign. They need to force Living Sacrifice to release two more albums (counting the next one), cut at least two bands loose and "advertise" LS more than they've ever done.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal".

McMb is really not that bad. And they're dang sure better than this band.

Honestly, I'd say about 75% of SS is bad in general.

I tried listening to this band again.

They mixed the vocals (eps. the cleans) way too low. It's sad. Can't listen to it. Can't.

Has anyone listen to the Haste the Day song yet?
