| Drawing! I've been drawing somewhat anime-ish furry art (VERY badly, I should add ) for the past two years... I'm only now starting to be remotely pleased with my work, and I've a lot to work on, to say the least. I mostly keep it to sketches, since I've got Prismacolors and they're way too expensive to waste on half the drawing I get around to doing anyway. I've got a lot of problems with drawing hands, and shading, though I'm working on it. I'll try to get the only decent drawing I've finished in a while uploaded someplace tomorrow... too tired right now.
So, who else here draws? What style, how long've you been doing it, what do you use, etc...?
BTW, for examples of furry art, check out Yerf.com. |

#2 | | Guest | I DRAW!!!!!
I do mostly aliens, Star Trek, LotR, and AvP stuff (ALIENS vs PREDATOR) I've been drawing as long as I've been able to, and I use whatever pencil is closest (usually a Techniclick 5.5 mm mechanic pencil) and Prismacolor colored pensils, and BIC ultrafinepoint ballpoint pens for inking. If you want I can show you some of MY art.
You're that Tracy that did the 'kingly tiger' ???? If so... THAT IS REALLY GOOD!!! I could never do THAT!

| No need to feel stupid. Everyone gets mixed up sometimes... (like me on last Friday's math test... 6 does NOT equal ten... ^.^; ) |

| Finally found the drawing I was looking for on a disk. It's kinda small, but still bad enough to show my extreme lack of skill.
*EDIT* Yay! It worked. I was in a weird mood when I drew this, BTW. |

#9 | | Guest | I'm curious.
What do you use when you draw?? (inks, pens, and pencils, etc.)
Do you use an art desk????
Art desks can really improve your drawing.I know mine did!! And it's neat to show someone your room and say "That's where I do my art at."

| I am feverishly trying to learn how to draw for art school admissions. I started my first (trad.) art class this week in school, and I'm starting Drawing I at Univ. of Arts' Sat. School in Feb. I need 15-30 observational drawings for my admissions protfolio, so I need as much practice and courses/help as I can get.
I'm a graphics person, but so far, from my short drawing experience, I like perspective drawing, gesture drawing, and drawing guitars. esp. my guitar. hehe... |

Predators are fun to draw! You should give em a go. I just finished one. I may try and get my brother (JSmith) to post it for me, since I can't post stuff like that.
What's gesture drawing??? I usually draw landscapes, and sci-fi stuff, so I naturally don't know about gesture drawing. i think..

| Murdock, (hhehe Ateam), I would very much like to take the easy way and take my friends' drawings for admissions, but my conscience and my accountability to God stops me, fortunately!
Gesture drawing--hmm..I'll try to post one, I'm bad w/words...you prob. have done it b4, though |

| Lessee... first off, I draw using whatever pencil I can find (I've got some drawing pencils that're waaay smoother than regular, but unfortunately, I lost them ) on some really strong, near card-type paper. After that, I either ink it with a black Uniball ultrafine (I think... that or fine) pen, and then color with Prismacolors, or color as I go and outline with a black pencil crayon, making sure that it's kept nice and pointy. What's an art desk? I generally do my sketching and coloring with my sketchbook propped up on something, but inking I'll do on a flat surface. What about you? |

#14 | | Guest | I like to draw with the nearest pencil, first a rough sketch, then I define everything, then I ink, sometimes using different colors of ink in some spots, and using black for the rest. Then I color them, or I just hang 'em on my wall. (but only if it's REALLY good)
I like to just sit and watch a movie or something with a lot of movement when I'm doing a rough sketch, then I move to my room, or the couch.
An art desk is a desk (naturally) that is tilted at degrees ranging from 30 to 45 degrees. And you do art on them.
And for my sketchbook, I use a Felix the Cat folder, and is't chock-full of drawings.
