The Avengers

Well they have Already released The Hulk and Iron Man (and at the end of that there was a scene with Nick Fury) I have heard rumors of there being six movies being released between this summer and the next. That means possibly one more this summer and 3-4 next summer. The supposed lineup for the "Avenger Initiative" (2011) is:

The Hulk
Iron Man
Nick Fury
Thor
Ant Man
Captain America

these are obviously just rumors, but I really do hope that they turn out to be true.

They're going to have to severely change that timeline unless they want some of those movies to flop. They're trying to force things, rather than letting each film develop properly.

Nick Fury - 2010
Ant Man - 2010
Iron Man 2 - 2010
Thor - 2010
Captain America - 2011
Avengers - 2011

And I agree with Daniel. It seems like they are forcing it, releasing all those movies in one year (and two the next).

I love Ant Man, in the context of the Avengers...a movie about him would work if it was a struggling superhero wanting to qualify for the Avengers.

Most of those are more than just rumors. Marvel has announced release dates for most of those movies.

Not long enough, honestly. I'm a bit nervous about their ability to put all those movies out in a timely manner and still have them be high-quality.

well when did we hear about The Dark Knight for the first time? or how about Iron Man? the first time I heard about either was in the spring.... so the filming probably started back at the end of '06 (just a guess I didnt get this from anyone)

The scary part is that the director of Iron Man (and Iron Man 2) agrees with you. Hopefully he can convince them to push their time table back.

That's true. If they were looking to do one movie in two years, that would be ok. But they're looking to do 3 movies in three years. They have Captain America scheduled to appear in two movies in 2011. It's just alot movies to make in little time.

I agree with the movies scheduled for '11, but if the other four have separate directors than I dont think it will be much of a problem.

Given Marvel movie's recent inter-connectivity (i.e. Tony Stark in "Hulk"), and the ultimate goal of having an avengers movie, there could be something to having these movies being produced at the same time. At the very least, it seems it would make it easier for them to have heroes cross over from movie to movie in order to build up to avengers.
