| Batman vs. Spider-Man Since The Dark Knight recently broke Spider Man 3's weekend ticket sales record I thought this was appropriate. How difficult is it for the Batman to take down the wallcrawler? Or vice versa?

| I'd have to say Spiderman because none of them were ruined by Joel Schumacher[despite the fact I enjoyed Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.]

| Movie Spider-Man vs. movie Batman? Or comicbook Spider-Man vs. comicbook Batman?
If it's the movies, I would probably go with Spider-Man. In the comics, Batman all the way. |

Alright here's the scenario. Pete's swinging through the streets like any other evening. Thwip, thwip, thwip. He glides into a cul-de-sac where he sees a man in a bat suit laying the smack down on a bunch of thugs--easy as breathing. Spidey plants himself on an adjacent wall and makes some zany quip. The man in the cape doesn't seem to hear Spider-Man. Peter starts to shout once more when he feels an acute spike in his spider sense. He spins to the left as a batarang lodges into the wall where he was a moment earlier. Quick as a flash he fires off some webbing, binding the man's hands. Spidey drops down between Batman and the only exit. What happens next?

| Ha! If it's the Adam West Batman, he just pulls out his Bat-Spider-Man Repellant. Instant win. |

I don't think Spidey would easily get webbing on him, but if so, Bruce would just slip out of the gloves, or find time to get a solvent out of his belt by using psychology - he'd get Peter talking, and that's Peter's downfall.
Immediately, the battle would flip toward Batman. Once he saw that Peter has some extra sense to stay a step ahead, he'd barrage the webslinger with a range of explosives, batarangs, etc. to get him distracted. Within minutes, he'd now have the wallcrawler boxed into a corner or seemingly incapcitated.
But here's the rub - Bruce has trained himself to perfection, and can become unpredictable to circumvent the Spidey-sense. But Peter is also an analytical thinker, a quick wit, and has superpowers. Just when the Bat thinks he has the Spider incapacitated, Peter would think of something.
There have been a couple Batman/Spider-Man crossovers, and I enjoy them.
I think the scenario you laid out would end with Peter being the one to swing away, having narrowly escaped the Batman. I also think that Peter Parker would eventually discover who the Batman is. Probably his Spider-sense - he'd meet Bruce Wayne who would immediately recognize that there was something odd about Peter, and Peter's sense would let him know that Bruce is plotting something.
Just as likely, though, I think something would happen in which the beaten-up thugs or a bystander who be at risk from the Bat/Spider sparring, and both Bruce and Peter would lunge to their defense, realizing that they're both kindred souls. |

I think the main objective for Batman, were these two to do battle, would be to turn it into a battle of wits rather than finesse or strength. |
