Last Night's Hernandez vs. Hollman Match.

Anyone else catch last night's exhibition? I have to say, for a fight with very little world rankings significance, there was a lot of passion, particularly on Hernandez's part.

Hernandez definitely defended his #1 opinion-poll ranking, even with the cut-totals loss--I think his style is just more suited to an alternative scoring system, such as Sum Blood Loss, especially considering the massive diagonal slash across Hollman's chest.

The streaker at 2:53 of the third round was pretty awesome, too.

It was definitely a controversial decision, which may lead to some changes from the UKFA.

I hope so--there's absolutely no way Hernandez would've lost if they'd been real assailants fighting to the death on the ocean floor, and yet because they were playing under pansy exhibition scoring, a rule-rider like Hollman is named the winner even though (according to the post-game show) he'll be hospitalized for at least a month, with a five-month convalescence timetable.

Exactly. This match definitely showed a deficiency in the scoring system that will have to be addressed. It will be interesting to see how Hollman will adjust. As much as I dislike his style, he is well known for using the rules to his advantage.

It will indeed be interesting to see how Hollman responds, and also to see if Hernandez incorporates some more rule-based strategies into his style, because even if everyone would rather see a straight-up fight, the rules can be a tremendously effective tool in UKF.

Go to your local UKFA branch, they should have it available, or if not, they should be able to mail order it from the central office. Make sure to bring your membership card if you want to check it out for the weekend or whatever.
