They made me feel uncomfortable and I just didn't enjoy them. I like shooting people.

Interesting. So I guess they are going to have Max choose to take V instead of someone else slipping it into his drink? That changes the story a bit.

For what it's worth, I loved the "drug" levels. If only because they were incredibly creepy and well-done. Although jumping around on synapses isn't something I would want to do for the whole game.

It appears they're aiming for a hard PG-13, but the MPAA keeps giving them an R rating. In the interview, the director keeps comparing the intensity and darkness of his film to The Dark Knight.

This movie was quite intense. It had alot of brutality and it quitely elevated Marky-mark's bada**ess. lol. I quite enjoyed it, but there was some stuff like the creatures, who I thought were real, but in the end were actually just hallucinations. Once that was separated it made even more sense. Some the plot was quite predictable, but that didn't really impact the quality of the movie.

So all in all, 3 of my 5 person group didn't like it, but I was one of the 2 who did.

Hopefully I'll get to see it this week. One of my buddies works at the local theater, so he'll prolly be able to get us in one night this week for free.

Yeah the ads were kind of deceptive in that regard. Did you play the game before seeing the film?

No I haven't. It was basically purely new to me.

I don't think the creatures are actually in the games, but there's all kinds of weird dream sequences. When I saw the creatures in the commercial I assumed it was a dream sequence.

Sucked. Hardcore.

I can understand when a movie adaption strays a bit from the original source for obvious reasons......but the amount of the story they changes was just ludacris (pun intended).
I was incredibly disappointed, as the Max Payne games are some of the most well-crafted art I have experienced. But even as a movie, apart from the games, the plot was wildly inconsistent, the effects were good, but misplaced, and the acting was horrendous at times.

The ending (after the credits) hinted at a sequel....I sincerely hope that public outcry changes their minds about making another piece of crap like this.
