Well, yeah, apparently.

How shortsighted the US has been. Everyone knew this was coming.

I really believe that T Boone Pickens has other motives than just purely profit/greed. He is witnessing the "American" way of life changing rapidly, and wants the US to be more self-sufficient. He obviously has more money than he will ever spend in his remaining years, I really believe he is motivated to make things better long-term.

I plan on attending a town-hall meeting on Wednesday to learn more about the plan. Has anyone else attended any functions regarding the entire plan?

It was an interesting "town-hall" style meeting. They expected about 400 and there were about 700 there.

I learned many things I didn't know about natural gas vehicles. General Motors already manufacture 12 models that utilize nat gas, but none in the US. They are all in South America. It would be nothing for them to bring that platform to the US marketplace, and with costs being $1.25/gal, it might catch on quite quickly. The cost for gas stations to include a pump for nat gas, would be about 400 grand each however. The natural gas vehicles would simply be a bridge until we eventually come up with other means for transportation, but currently we are spending over $700 billion on overseas oil, and much of that money goes to people that really don't like us all that much.

He would like the federal government to create a wind corridor, where wind farms could be expedited, much like the interstate highway system was pushed back in the 50's-60's for national security in moving military equipment in a hurry. The costs for infrastructure and transmission lines is considerable, but with that there is jobs created, and in the long run, a much better, renewable source of energy.

I believe he's quite sincere in his belief that this has become a national security crisis, and like he stated, if you find yourself in a hole, the best thing to do is quit diggin.

I don't think it's a coincidence that he's the largest personal holder of natural gas reserves in the country.

Probably because they use the metric system. Everything gets messed up when your units of measurement are conducive to arithmetic.

How many ounces in a pint again?
lol
