| What's your budget?
IMO, if your'e stuck with not a lot of cash, just go on your local craigslist and look for a cheap drum set. In my experience, a cheap kit is a cheap kit regardless of the brand.
I do however have a special place in my heart for the Gretsch Catalina kits... |

So I just need to know where I should go to get them so that I don't get jipped
because the drum set I have now is in poor condition and the kick is busted...

| That's not a bad budget at all. If you don't have a local music shop or drum shop, take a look online at some of the major nationwide players. They generally have some good deals advertised. I have a local drum shop that is also a big player on eBay, so I have an advantage that way.
I think the best bang for your buck would either be a Mapex M Birch kit, or a Gretsch Catalina kit (which comes in birch or maple). You can buy the kit with hardware, and then you just need the stool, cymbals, and sticks. You can get some good boxed sets of cymbals in the major lines, or buy them individually. Again, most drum shops have used cymbals, and you can get some real deals there sometimes.
Hope that helps. |

| I'm with Norske on the Gretsch Catalina, although they have discontinued the birch kit, and replaced it with Ash. For your style of music you probably want the Maple anyway. Pearl, Ludwig, Yamaha, and Sonar all make good sets. |
