| Is this true? Okay there is this really annoying guy who goes to my church He says that the band POD isn't christian (even though they sing christian songs) because they sponered a beer company but as I recall Jesus would drink wine but that didn't make him not Jesus, So whats the deal? |

| They're all Christians, and they openly admit to being so.
Sinning once doesn't make you un-Christian, even if it's in the public eye. Drinking beer isn't a sin, drunkenness is, and we don't know that they drank beer anyways.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| I don't know about the beer issue. The reason POD isn't Christian is because they endorse Rastafarianism, and enourage Rastifarians to praise the Rastafarian Jah. |

| DISCLAIMER: My critics of the band are real. My statements about the band not being "Christian" were in jest. Quote:

They had H.R. from Bad Brains, a Rastafarian, sing on the song "Without Jah, Nothin." I don't have a problem with a Rastafarian singing on the album. I do have a problem with a Christian writing a praise song to God which uses common Rastafarian terminology, and then inviting a Rastafarian to do guest vocals on the song. |

However, it's not a common term used by Christians. Rastafarians took it as the name for their god. So while it technically is a biblical term, in the 21st century it's almost solely linked with Rastafarianism. P.O.D. has never been modest about their appreciation of Rasta culture. So it's pretty clear why they're choosing to use the term. In and of itself that isn't wrong, but it isn't terribly wise either. Where I would say they definitely crossed the line was when they had a Rastafarian sing on a praise song to Jah. It may praise the god of the Bible for them, but the Rastafarian is committing idolatry...and they put it on their CD. |

Regarding P.O.D., they have made some choices that I don't understand(if they intended "Without Jah, Nothin'" to be a worship song to God, then their inviting H.R. to be a part of it wasn't a smart move). However, since even Jesus is recorded to have been drinking alcohol, I don't see this whole beer thing as a bad thing in and of itself.

| Here is a page that discusses this exclusively. Some of it seems accusational but there are some possible truths here. http://www.av1611.org/crock/pod_rast.html |
