Summer Poetry Club

So here I am backpacking off the idea of the summer book club folks - is anybody interested in starting a poetry book club? Basically, the aim of the club is to understand and discover new poetry. I would think that we would either read/post between one to three poems per week from a single author and then have discussion and analysis. I know little about analyzing poetry so, my abilities for moderating a discussion would be limited.

There are so many different types of poetry, so, the type we cover is up to whomever would like to participate. I'm rather interested in analyzing some modernist poetry, but I'm open to reading lots of new things.

If you'd be interested, pleease post

I'd be moderately interested, but of course my loyalties lie first to the book club (being that I started it ). If I had time left over, I'd be interested in participating here.

I've really wanting to dig into some Yeats. We should do Yeats.

I'm all up for some poetry discussion. Probably more than the book discussion, actually.

I'd be up for it, but I'd recommend not sticking with the usual suspects (e.e. cummings, T.S. Eliot). I have a number of suggestions for contemporary poets that I think would be both engaging and unexpected.

In the end, however, I'm hungry to discuss poetry so I'd read Hallmark Cards if need be.

The poems of Tennessee Williams have really been amazing me lately. He was really a great poet in addition to playwrite.

I've been wanting to get into some Yeats, but I guess he would fall under the "usual suspects".

There's always Annie Dillard. Tickets for a Prayer Wheel is a pretty good poetry collection.

How about Jeffrey McDaniel or Frank O'Hara? I really enjoy both of their stuff.

OK this week, let's do three Tennessee Williams. thelitguy, could you post some sometime this weekend, at your leisure? (Unless you feel that three is too much; your discretion).
