Hey Guys,

I'm looking for an electronic kit. Nothing fancy, mostly for practicing in my apartment. I need a fairly realistic look and sound. This may eventually get used in my church so it needs to be fairly durable. I'm not wanting to spend a lot, definately under $1000...bonus points if it is under $500. I would definately rather buy used but I'm not sure what the used market looks like. Ideas? Thanks!

if you luck out you might be able to score a Roland TD-6 or TD-7 in that range.

Getting something that sounds good and is cheap can be very difficult though. The nice thing about the Roland TD-6 (I think) and higher is that I believe all of the parts are interchangeable so you can use the high-end mesh heads with them or later swap out the processor for a better one.

I don't know much about other kits in that range like the offerings from Simmons or the Yamaha DTX line.

Has anyone considered Traps. They new, made in England I think. There is a web site. Trapsdrums.com. The E-450 is what we are looking at now to buy.
