Yes, the monthly service fee with the Treo can be cheaper than the service fee with the iPhone; also, you could use the Treo outside of the country without jumping through hoops. Also, the treo has copy and paste, A2DP, bluetooth file transfer, and you can tether it as a modem for no extra charge. (may or may not violate your terms of service.)
The iPhone is cool, but you do make sacrifices for that coolness.
And I DID buy and iPod touch. I am not attacking the iPhone, as I said. I just think that people swallow whatever Apple presents too readily. This is not the deal to end all deals on a smartphone, at all. It's just a cool, competitively priced phone. If I were in the market for one, it would be in my top 3 phones that I would want to get.
