iTunes and Mpeg-4s

I've been converting movies to put on my ipod for a long time, but now I am having trouble adding some new files to itunes. I can't pinpoint the problem. The file is existent (as in occupys the right amount of mbs), is in the right format, and has a proper name. Those are the main reasons I think would be why it wouldn't add (but they aren't for this). Any ideas?

What did you use to convert them?
