Ok, So i like this girl, we've been friends for a while, and so i get to thinking, "Hey i will ask her out".
I knew that she liked me, but i still wasn't sure if she'd say yes. Well, i also had a best friend named... well let's just say his name is Charles. so i was talking to charles the night before i was going to ask her out, i say "So, i'm going to ask someone out tomorrow" I say. "Who?" Charles asked. (Lets just say the girls name is...) "Mckenzie." "Oh, cool." Charles says. "So, hows your girl life going." I say. "Well, i like this girl," He says, "But i don't know what to do." "Well who is it?" I say.
"Uhh.... Mckenzie." He says. (And keep in-mind that he just happens to be 4 and-a-half years older)
"Umm... Wow" I say, "Then you ask her out, i don't care" (I lied) "No, it's okay" He says.
(Next day) Well i'm at a party at Mckenzie's cousin's house, The big moment is on it's way. Oh yea, time to introduce Her cousin, he is my most disliked friend i've ever had, and he says "You know he's gonna ask you out" How did he know that?!? I ask him and he says "Oh, you realy are?!? I was just kiddin!" I gave him a hateful look and walk away. I walk up to Mckenzie and say "The truth is, I was going to ask you out, but know its all messed up" She puts her arm around me and says, "It's okay, but i just don't want to ruin the friendship between us," Okay thats cool, i can deal with that, well, then i made mistake #1. "Hey Mckenzie you know who else likes you,?" "Who?" She says. "Charles" I say. "Hmm, okay" and she walks away.

Big mistake here. Really, if you are going to ask a girl out and somebody who may just be making a dumb joke says something. Why would you claim it is all messed up? I mean seriously, what did he mess up? You should have brushed it off or something instead. Something to play off of it rather than let it ruin things. Stuff happens in relationships. Strange things that make no sense in fact. And people do unpredictable things. But what you did was just immature.

Mistake number 3. That is treating her really disrespectfully. That is treating your friend really disrespectfully, and you know what you hated that that other guy did? You became that guy for your friend. That just was a sucky thing to do.

Mistake number 1 was telling someone else in the first place if you wanted to surprise her. people break confidence.

Honestly... it sounds as if you are far too immature to date with all these Junior High subplots going on.

If you haven't already, I would make sure and tell "Charles" how this all went down so he isn't blind-sided by a third party with "hey I heard you lided McKenzie". I would tell him I was caught off guard and was sorry I brought his name into this.

lols funny story but to tell u the truth i dont think u did anything 2 wrong only big thing i see is dont ever tell anyone who ur gonna ask out till you do gossip spreads faster then butter.
and yeah u might feel like u messed up by saying o its all screwed up now but honestly i dont think she was intrested by what she said if you really like this girl and i mean really then try something spontaneous something nice if its a w.e. thing just stay as friends

hey, it really sucks for Charles now. I've been put in his position before, my friend told the guy I liked that I liked him. I wasn't going to ask him out tho.... but ya, just make sure you never do that again, and I can imagine how stupid you feel, cuz i do stupid things all the time. don't beat yourself up over it, and everyone will forget about it soon.

ya, and it will be really awkward for Mckenzie and Charles now. But they will forget things. Eventually. Just don't beat yourself up over it. We all do stupid things.
