Overclocking

Ok. This is the situation. I have a ati radeon 125mb graphics card, but an old mobo with a
pentium 3 and only 256mb of ram. Is there a way I can overclock the processor and ram so I can get more performance out of my card, or is there another way?

If it is a prebuilt computer (Dell, HP, or other) overclocking the CPU and RAM will be a no-go. You could overclock the video card using a program such as rivatuner, but you would not net a very good performance increase. I also would not recommend trying to overclock such an old card, it may not take it well.

Build a new computer, take your graphics card and put it in that computer, do not install Vista. Umm overclocking puts out heat and I would think that with those old components that the case would not have sufficient fans or such. Definitely not a good option, and if you would wish to build a computer around that card or such let us know and we would be happy to suggest some components.

Ok. This is the situation. My dad had the computer built in 2000, so it's not the best but I have upgraded it somewhat. Ive added 156mb of ram, a second hard drive and another cd drive, along with the video card. We have two other HP-Pavilions, but they're both integrated graphics, so I cant put the card in there. I dont have any money to build another computer, although I would love to. If there isn't anything I can do with what I have, I'll just have to save up some money and upgrade. Thanks for all your comments.

What does having integrated graphics have to do with being unable to install a external graphics card?

Neither of the mobos have a PCI-Express slot, which is what the graphics card is.

PCI-E was introduced in 2004. Is the video card in a white slot, or a brown slot?
