I live on a lake but I havent fished much in the last year... my dad cought a bass yesterday tho...

Molly, yes. It's easy on live-bearing fish. Males will have a long skinny anal fin.
Goldfish? No can do.

Why do you need to know the gender?

Well it was given to me from a friend, and was already named "calico" and it is a girl If i looked at it right. (Its kinda
awkward looking at the fishes behind and other parts tho for both me and calico lol)

I all so got a sucker fish (forgot the species) I named it Tedo. Dose it have a gender?

If it's possible to differentiate, your local fish store probably has someone who can show you a boy and a girl side by side so you can figure out the gender of your fish.
