Which makes sense because he does with such ease, and it still has the same power as his lower register. I don't know if I believe it, but it does make sense.

Speaking of incredible, I forgot Bobby McFerrin. He's a genius, and his hit song doesn't do him justice. |

Others I like are:
Ella Fitzgerald
Linda Ronstadt
Natalie Cole
Mariah Carey (I'm not really into her music but she has a great voice and a phenomenal range)

Then Josh Scogin from Norma/The Chariot.
And I can never froget the dude from Dead Poetic. He might not scream anymore, but his singing voice is still amazing!

| Josh Groban - do yourself a favour and check out his duet with Brian McKnight - Angels We Have Heard On High
the lead singer from Supertramp - In "The Logical Song", the guy hits a high E flat with perfect pitch and without straining for it. Possibly the highest male voice ever for a popular rock band.
Michael Tait - why is Tobymac big and Tait faded away? he has one of the smoothest voices I've ever heard.
Stephen Christian from Anberlin - hits high C s with ease and sings everything up around G and A.
Spencer Chamberlain from Underoath - his screaming is some of the best I've heard, and his singing is the perfect complement. |

| I can't believe I never posted here.
In no particular order...
Chris Cornell (but only while he was with soundgarden)
Shannon Hoon - Blind Melon, do yourself a favor and listen to their first cd...
Freddie Mercury - He is only recognized as the greatest male vocalist of all time by several poles...
Brandon Rike - Dead Poetic. I know he's not amazing, but he's one of my favorites... He just is...
Phil Joel - His work on Entertaining Angels is outstanding. It's one of my favorite songs of all time from start to finish. And I don't get into pop a whole lot but I had his first solo cd and I enjoyed it. He has a great voice.
Scott Weiland - okay I still live in the 90's so what... the next one shouldn't surprise you either...
Ed Roland - Collective Soul...
Layne Staley - I really enjoy listening to him...
And on my least favorite vocalist lists...
NUMBER ONE!!!! EDDIE VEDDAR! This man has ruined modern rock simply for his influence on the next guy...
Scott Stapp who influenced
Chad Kroeger who is a contemporary of
Alex Band
with a special mention of Patrick Stump and Brendon Urie who are actually the same person if you didn't know it...
Connor Oberst
Axl Rose
Billy Corgan
Roger Daltry
Linda Perry - the only song i've ever heard that she sang was "What's up?" and that is a HORRIBLE song. Enough to put her on this list... that lady should be beaten with large sticks... hopefully someday she'll permanently lose her voice...

| Wow, The Guy is in alot of bands. And with all of that touring, its amazing his voice is so sharp. Also, his range is impressive.
Dan Weyandt (The Guy... from Zao)
Scott Mellinger. (kinda mediocre, but I like his vocal style. he is The Other Guy from Zao and Jade Meridian) And for reals guys, check out Jade Meridian. Its not hardcore, or metalcore. Its just good effing music.
Colin Melloy (The Guy from The Decemberists)
Stephen, Brennan, and Michael from Haste The Day. (The Guy, That Guy, and A Guy, respectively)
