| The Go-Kart thread I'm a huge fan of em and I wondered if anyone else was...
back in the 60's they would put 4 huge chainsaw engines on one and it would go like 140mph... regretably the one I am building will probably only go 30mph........

| shifter karts with motorcycle engines are pretty slick too. I've seen a few with motors from like cbr600's that are just ridiculous. |

| I found a racing go-kart online that supposedly can hit 160mph and go from 0-60mph in 4 sec.... now THAT would be a ride to remember

| Hooray for old threads.
A friend of mine crashed a GSX-R 750 a while back. I was unable to get my hands on the wreckage.... otherwise I would have likely had to build something to mount that motor on... |

| Man I would LOVE to have one of those shifter karts, can you imagine what kind of a rush that must be to drive one of those?! An Ariel Atom wouldn't be too bad either .

actually this is what I would like to do with the go-kart I'm going to build in my basement/ garage over the winter. Just to fill you in my dad has a few motorcycle engines and I'm not sure what size I'll be using... it will depend on which one will take the least work to fix. it's going to be basically a single seat sandrail/ dunebuggy that is go-kart sized (IDK if it will be actually dune worthy though)I haven't decided on the final demensions yet, but it will be a welded steel tube body. I plan on keeping the hand clutch mechanism (I'll put it on the steering wheel) but I'm not sure how I'm going to make the shifter like the ones in a normal car. Ideas?

| I found this vid just a few minutes ago... It's kinda what I have in mind, but I there are several things I want different.
I'm still checking to see what size engines I have to choose from and how muck work they will be to fix... in the meantime I'm going to try to fix a go-kart my dad made a long time ago... the engine is in pretty good shape and all the body needs is to be made about 8 inches longer then sanded and painted. hopefully that will be done by fall...
