| Well I've liked the same person since I was in like 6th grade (but for some stupid reason I cant tell her), but her I've know her bff since I was in like 1st grade, and her mom always (and still does) make jokes about an arranged marriage. I REALLY hope its a joke.

I see her quite often and we know we like each other (her friends have told me so...) but neither of us are allowed to date yet

| Not really. But i'm not even allowed to date either. I'm apparently not allowed to date untill i'm out of school. I'm only 13, so it doesnt really matter i guess. I still think that dating would be kinda awkward... like... well... ya.... and then you break up and see each other and it would be.. like... awkward... |

| Well, my grandma is always trying to get me with my guy friend whom I've been knowing since second grade. Yeah, I used to have a crush on him when I was, like, in 4th grade...but, I now just like him as a friend. I always tell her, "He has a girlfriend, and even if he didn't...he's not my type...I don't like him that way...he doesn't like me that way." My grandmother will not let it go, though. She even told me that she'd have "beautiful great-grandchildren" if we got married. Creepy.

| My mom has tried to and like Hapa said, every time the girl was never my type, thus I never took her advice. Sorry mom, but you're not a matchmaker. |

| Not me, but my friend did. This girl liked my friend they were already in a (what i would call a) "decent relationship" for their age [14]. They'ed thalk pretty regularly in a no pressure situation. Anyway this went on for a good 2 years or so. Well, then the mothers come along and say well lets set these 2 up for a movie together. Keep in mind I dont personaly think my friend or this "girlfriend" had anything to do with it. Well she would come to his baseball games and he would go to her soccer games and everything was all fine and dandy. Well, just a couple days ago my friend came to me just about in tears saying that she had broken up with him and that she said that she needed a break and that he didn't know what that meant, (guys you know what I'm talkin about here) So parents, don't do it. I don't really think it can work unless you really know your son/daughter to the point of....well...you just have to know them really well. And if you could maybe pray for my friend I still don't think that he's fully recovered from it yet. So thanks ya. (keep in mind that i too am 14 and do not claim liabillity for any decisions that are made upon the basis of my advice should anyone take it into account. I'm still young, I'll make my share of mistakes too.)
Thanks Always <>< Peace, Love, and Happieness ><>

| Always, and they still do. Any guy friend I've ever hung out with from 12th grade to now my dad is convinced I will marry or should marry. My mom doesn't care as long as I'm not a lesbian. (I'm not kidding about that either.)
I ignore them and still hang out with my guy friends. I'm not in a place where I'm itching to get married. |

| Yeppers Actually, yes, my parent attempted it once. To arrange it all, but it didn't work out.
See, my mom though this one girl would be awesome for me since I am an extrovert and the girl was an extrovert too, but one problem, we both made each other miserable because we naturally, not even on purpose drew the attention to ourselves. So, dated for a few months, but technically she broke it off. It was funny, but now we are like brother sister, and we hang and chill like best friends.
Another situation:
My brother tried to set his ex-girlfriend's sister and I up. Actually they both did.
We met, went out on a technical date, walked around the mall, ate lunch together...
It was fun, she and I are actually close friends now, but nothing more.
We actually hung out until like 1 am, playing monopoly and talking about life.
Having fun, laughing about how the two of our sibling tried to get us to go out.
And yet another,
was a friend who tried to set me up with his younger sister, but I wouldn't cross the barrier no matter what. (Age difference.) I'm 21 she was like 17. Wow, way to much age difference, besides the fact that where I've lived and live presently just dating a minor will get you in trouble.
So that went down the drain fast.
One more, and I will stop.
A lady I worked with tried to set me up with her best friend's niece, but it was like worse case scenario ever. I mean it was chemistry and we got along really well, I even bought her roses.
We clicked, or so I thought. Later on (next day) I saw here kissing (makingout) with another girl in the mall. Yuck nasty, and horrible.... never want to do that again.
I would really enjoy another blind date or someone trying to set me up, because it makes for fun stories. Personally, I believe God will bring the right one when I and she are ready!
