I also heard that if you get a group to buy a language its cheaper per course...does anyone know if that is true?

I once tried Rosetta Stone. The only thing that stuck was "El Nino debajo el elephante."

I haven't tried it for Spanish, but I tried it for Japanese and Korean many years ago. It was the computer version that showed pictures and would say the word for whatever was in that picture while flashing the word on the screen.

Which is excellent for learning vocabulary. However the program (at that time) did not teach the writing system, yet the vocabulary words were all spelled in their native alphabets, and it did not teach even the most basic grammar. It was a pure vocabulary program.
