| My wife follows no diet plan. She shops for high-fiber foods, eats a balance of carbs and protein with lots of fresh produce. We make it a priority to cook from scratch and eat an absolute minimum of processed foods. We eat only as much as needed. She snacks occasionally, and occasionally indulges in whatever she wants.
She supplements her diet with regular exercise. At her first appointment with the OBG after becoming pregnant, the doctor described her as "too healthy". In five years, I can't remember her having a cold or flu. We're not low-calorie, extreme, overly organic, low-fat, or anything else. My wife just doesn't eat out a lot, doesn't eat crap (read: processed) and eats what she wants within reason.
I think that's a pretty simple, incredibly healthy diet.
