Hi, this is the forum for members who are involved in the Defence Force (Army, Navy, & Air Force)

Can someone please tell me what Canberra is like?

Well I'm not in either but as no one has answered and I live in Canberra....

I like Canberra. It's a nice place, the only thing it is missing is a beach. It has good roads, enough shops etc.

is there any footy there? i'm a huge fan of the Storm

There's the Canberra Raiders who are based here in the NRL and the Brumbies in the Union. Every now and then an AFL team will play here.

You just missed the Storm's Canberra game for the year. The Storm won with a fair bit of help from the ref. (I'm a Manly fan by the way - not a Raiders one).

So I guess you'd be kinda ticked with me about the Grand Final last year? sorry, but there's always this year too...

What other sports are around there? I know there's the Bradman Oval out in Bowral.

Also, have you been to Townsville? if so, can you send back?

Nah haven't been Townsville. Not much else winter sport (well there's basketball and netball too apparently). In summer we get the PMXI's and sometimes some other bits and pieces. It's not too far from Sydney (3.5hours drive) to go up there to watch the Test etc.

Let's not mention the grand final....

LOL... high chance we'll be moving there at the end of this year... surely you would know what the army is like!
