The Devil Wears Prada

I like to check these guys out too. Which album should I get first?

get both of them. the first album has more breakdowns. the second album has cleaner guitar sounds than the first and it does still have breakdowns.

i hope all of that makes sense

just my opinion.

I should revive this thread since I bought the Plagues reissue album. The DVD is amazing. The band's footage of Ultimatour and Vans Warped Tour are sick ya'll. My favorite part is where they find a bird on the stage, play dodgeball and the Vans Warped Tour.

That was a little uncalled for.

I have the Plagues reissue as well, and the tour videos are pretty sweet. The only thing I was hoping was that the live performances would have been a little better quality audio wise, but it was alright.

I just realized that since no one brought up their new album coming out next month, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity especially in a revived thread. They also have a new song entitled 'Dez Moines' on the myspace.

Check it out:

Getting out of a christian bookstore is your first step.
As good as metalcore can get, I don't think you get too much better than As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, and yes even The Devil Wears Prada; secular or christian.
And yes i've heard my share of Unearth (yes they are still really good but not any better than, say, August Burns Red) and many other secular metalcore bands.

I enjoy these guys, but I just am not into metalcore and screamo enough to buy the new album of them. Regardless, i'm excited to hear it when my friend buys it.

I've had the opportunity to see these guys live a couple of times, and let me tell you, I don't think you have to be a fan of these guys to have a great time at one of their shows. They put on a really great show.

Oh wow, I just got this Wednesday! I love the DVD so much man!

My favorite part is when Mike hits the can and it sprays on him, and when Mike is jumping up and down to a really heavy breakdown, and then the camera is moving the opposite direction. That made me crack up the first time I saw it

AILD, ABR and this band don't compare at all to Converge, or Unearth, or Dillinger Escape Plan, or Burn in Silence.....In fact, August Burns Red are the only Christian metalcore band I'd call "great" in any sense.
Besides, there are plenty of other genres with a larger number of really good bands.

The new TDWP cd looks very promising, I'm a diehard fan myself and think both Dear Love... and Plagues were both great.
Mike's lyrics are amazingly deep and that's what drew me to them to begin with.

New song is probably the hardest tdwp song I've ever heard.

It's heavy, but it's not very good.

The new songs are really dull.

I really like the sound of the new cd. More melodic. Vocalist is less insistent on shrieking in a frequency only dogs can hear.
