| MLB 2008 It's that time of year again!
Time for my Phillies to defend the NL East title (or not).
My predictions:
NL East: Mets
NL Central: Cubs
NL West: Dodgers
Wild Card: Padres
AL East: Yanks
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Mariners
Wild Card: Angels
WS: Tigers over Mets
Any predictions?

Any predictions? | Im not gonna predict most of the divisions yet but i dont think the Dodgers can win the West. You've got the Rockies who lost some pitching but should still be solid and the D'Backs who with the addition of Dan Haren should be doing pretty good.Idk about the Yanks....i dont like them and Boston returns....well pretty much everybody.Central is gonna be tough but the Tigers look to have the best batting lineup in that division which is saying a lot.

| The NL West is going to be a tough division to predict (as it has been for the last several years). The Rockies will return strong as they did towards the end of last season. I really don't think the Dodgers have what it takes (spoken like a true San Diegan). The D'backs should be able to contend, and the Padres pitching staff will keep them in the hunt. |

| Well, call the Dodgers a sleeper pick. I think the NL West is going to be one of the most competitive divisions this year, but I think the Dodgers have a shot. And I hate the Yankees, but I do think they will overcome the Sox this year. I hope not, but that's what I'm thinking. And I would hate if the Mets won the NL east, but I don't have much confidence in the Phils, and I don't think the Braves can quite beat them, even though they will be better than a lot of people say they are.

| I don't know the NL too well, but I'm gonna make a couple picks. I think 2 teams will come out of the AL Central strong, the Tigers & Indians. Most likely Tigers winning the division, Indians wild card. I think the Tigers have it in them to win the WS this year. Yankees don't make the playoffs.
My only question with the Tigers is that they've fairly consistently choked when they're the favorites. They lost a lot of games late the past couple years when they had a chance to clinch the division. Then they got smoked by the Cardinals in the World Series. But, their pitching staff is 1 year more mature, and they've beefed up the batting even more. Hopefully it's enough. (If you can't tell, I'm from Michigan ) |

| My one and only prediction. The San Francisco Giants will not win the NL West. |

I do think they'll do better than last year. I don't know if they'll place higher, but I think they'll make a better race out of it. |

| Well, Boston will go to the AL championship. As much as I love the BoSox, I'm from Cleveland, so I think my Indians might do it this year. That's what I'm pullin for. As for the NL, who cares? They can't win. Why even bother? Just let Cleveland and Boston slug it out for the title. That's my humble opinion. |

I think they could potentially lose 100+ games. The division is too strong, and their offense is too weak, though their pitching remains strong. |

| But the Giants could potentially be stronger in future years...they have a lot of interesting up and coming players
I'm just gonna call the AL b/c I haven't paid as much attention to the NL as I should have
AL East: Boston (holding on despite a late-season charge by the Yanks)
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Angels or Mariners
AL Wild card: Yankees and Angels/Mariners duke it out for this spot.
Bedard was less than dominating in his opener but you know what? Just look at his line - even without his best stuff he still only gave up a couple of hits (including the homer in the 1st) and only the 1 run. Heck, I'd take that. And it'll be nice for Felix not to have to be the #1. The Angels are strong, though...so I can't confidently predict that my revamped M's will win.

| Well Phillies lost. Even after a great comeback in which they came back from 6-2. And then Tom Gordon came in and promptly gave up 5 runs in the ninth. Ugh. At least they got Rudy Seanez today. That should help a little. Still though, it's not looking real good this year for anyone that doesn't live in Boston, New York, Cleavland or Detroit.

| Well the Tigers lost their opener so it looks like they won't be selling beer at Comerica Park this year...
