I thought that I personally couldn't be used by God. It has been 4 yrs. since I stopped going to that church and started going to one that my family has started and I have grown so much closer to God by not being able to run to them (my youth pastor and his wife) everytime that I feel
God isn't listening or I'm doomed for hell. It has made me stronger.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with having someone to go to or lean on, we all need that sometimes and I believe God will place people in your life to help you grow but we need to make sure we are relying on Jesus first and foremost to meet our needs for growth with him.
I find that in the body of Christ I can be used by God just as much as anyone else, I just have to have a willing heart , obedient actions, humble heart and Jesus Christ on my side.
I find it difficult to just go up to people and start sharing the gospel, I'm not ashamed but how do you do it?
You don't want to turn people away from the truth by your mistake if God is not doing the leading.
I know that you can't sugar coat the truth either.
I guess right now I'm trying to learn how to hear God better to be sure He is doing the leading,
Of course there will always be the enemy there to say that it isn't.
There are people in need and yet I don't really know how to make an impact for God yet.
Sincerely your sister in Christ. |
Well maybe a way that you could help spread God's word without feeling like you're forcing or sugar coating it, would be to maybe talk to people who are interrested in the same things as you.
For me, music is very close. I talk to people about the gospel throught them. I'll just start up a conversation about music and then I start talking about christian bands, and if they haven't heard of them, I'll have them listen or write it down for them to look up. If they're still interrested, I'll bring up how the lyrics can relate to problems we have and how God can help us, or how it relates to scripture. Then maybe I'll bring up something that happened to me where I feel God has touched me, or a song that touches me.
That's just what I do though. There are many other ways you could reach out to other people. Like, you could volunteer somewhere and talk to people about it there.
