When I say going solo i dont mean I'm ditching my band. I'm writing solo, mostly acoustic stuff aswell. I'm focusing on originals now, ditching the covers.
Recently ive been beginning to experiment more with the music im writing - using irregular time signatures like 7/8 and 5/4, changing time signatures and modulation, and veering away from the conventional song structure to write more progressive songs, rather than verse, chorus, verse chorus, bridge, chorus etc.
Ive also been experimenting with the recording program I use - adding vocal effects, changing acoustic guitar to electric distorted sounding, adding tremelo, wah, flange, chorus etc.
anyway my music can be heard on my myspace page, which is in my signature. Feel free to listen to my songs, add me as a friend, comment me, or leave a post on here to tell me what you think. I like feedback so i can decide where i should take my music next
I will post a message on here whenever something significant happens, such as Ive written a new song or put a new one on myspace.

UPDATE:
I uploaded a new song to my myspace music page. Its caled "The Wicked Witch of the West" and its about the deputy principal of my school. Shes only been there a year and she thinks she owns the place. Anyway its there and I might post the lyrics in the songwriting forum sometime soon
Im gonna keep doing updates on here even if nobody cares and wont read it.

If you're serious about exploring your songwriting from a creative, personal way don't decide where you should take your music based on others feedback. Constructive feedback is a great tool to learn what others like, and possibly use as a evaluation tool for commercial success, but in my opinion, the greatest songwriters/composers let it come from thier heart, and didn't try to appeal to the marketplace. Eventually the marketplace will come to embrace that which is truly creative, and worthwhile.

this is where what ive said about using irregular time signatures comeinto effect: it starts in 7/8, changes to 5/4, returns briefly to 7/8, goes to 6/8 then goes and remains in a steady 4/4 time
