Chevelle...Nu metal?

Chevelle is one of my favorite bands and have the first three albums on my computer. But I've noticed that some people on this board have suggested that their music style is Nu metal. I don't think they're Nu Metal. Any thoughts?

Depends on how you define nu metal. They did initial break in the middle of the nu metal craze. They do use tunings like drop d and c. One could make a strong argument for them being nu-metal. But it really depends on how you define nu metal.

well, what sean said is true, and i dont really have a "definition" of nu-metal, but i really dont classify Chevelle that way. three days grace isnt nu-metal, and they use drop tunings.
