No, but use of strictly red & purple LED light is.... Eep. There are no actual lights anywhere near this stage, except for one or two on the side, set inside saxaphones, and covered with red gels.

Nice venue to play. Not so much to shoot.

You're telling me you made those driftwood towers? How much time do you have on your hands, sir?!

All depends on the lens.

Heck yeah. I should have posted it in the critique thread. . .I have a softbox now, but I don't really know how to use it well.

I know that the shadows are too harsh around the corners of her mouth, eyes and such, but the more I put the light straight on or use a fill flash to even it out, the more it looks all nasty and flat like a direct flash :/

EDIT: Better yet, I'll just put it over there so we don't clutter this thread up.

Can I ask you a question about these?
Is that sky natural the way you shot it, or did you dodge and burn it in post processing?

Two words. Red Filter.

Once you use one, you will be hooked, guaranteed.

So... did you use a real one, or use Lightroom/Photoshop?

Same principle.

I know the edits on some of those were slightly haphazard, I should clean them up...

I used Red Filters at school.

Forget dodge and burn. although I could never figure out which number to use.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that.

My D90 has filter options on the monochrome controls (yellow, orange, red, green). I wonder if it really works the same as using a real filter...
