I use Adobe Lightroom for that, and I guess my eye orients a bit more towards a film-like quality in the processing. A little toning goes a long way.
I also just started one of those 365 things. Hope I can keep it up. |

| I really couldn't decide if I liked the color or sepia version of this shot better. I loved them both (although I was more interested in the subject ^_^) |

Thanks |

Thanks | What software are you using? What is your workflow for making this sepia? The sepia might work if you tweak the levels before you convert to b&w, then to sepia.

| I use Photoshop CS3. Oh gosh, I don't remember. I do everything a little bit differently, but the B&W action I made that I typically use is two duplicates of the background layer, the top one set to soft light and the bottom ones set to screen. I really like the contrast that this gives you, especially for color images. I then put a B&W adjustment layer on top of that.
So yeah, that's probably not exactly how I did it, but I think that's the gist of it.
EDIT: I think I might have actually used curves on this one. I don't normally, but I think I did for this picture. |

#235 | | Baby #2 is here! | In CS3, if you go up to adjustments > convert to B&W, it should give you a channel mixer type thing. I'd try adjusting that, then applying a sepia layer on top of that.

| Yeah, I never really have liked the channel mixer thing. I've never been able to get good enough contrast without it looking weird, so I normally use curves, or a soft light layer to get the contrast I need before hand. |

| I'm preparing for a big shoot at the end of the month, so I haven't had much time to acutally shoot other things.
Here are some old shots, turned into a faux TTV. |

It's really the only reason (well, also it runs better on my aging iMac) that I use it over Aperture now, because I do agree with you about the workflow/organization. |
