I'm pretty sure you need WinRar or some other software to extract the file. I don't think that there's anything built into Windows that will do it.

WinRar or Zipgenius should be able to unzip it properly.

I have a program called Rarzilla which takes care of all my .rar file needs. It's free and hides itself from the start menu, you just right click the file.

I would much rather have something in the start menu rather than having it integrated into Windows' shell.

Yeah, but this program is completely free whereas Winrar has a trial period and after that I believe you have to pay or it quits working. Right?

No, the trial version works forever... it just keeps giving you the "please register" message every time you open it after it expires.

I did not know that. Oh well I have Rarzilla and it works fine for what little use I have for it.

some of the mods clearly state they are for version 1.2.xxx (which is the version i have) but i think i am missing something in the installation process. im not quite sure what to do, as i am new to mods for FoF. i would appreciate any help and insight on how to install mods if anyone on CGR knows how.

alright, well this thread is officially closed. After some help on the FoF fan forum, I downloaded a slightly older version with less bugs. I use Zipgenius (thank you so much to whoever said that!) for .rar and .zip file extractions. Almost all the mods work now. So say goodbye to this thread and thank you for all the help guys!
