Somebody's Heine

Ahh... the new digs. It almost feels like moving into a new home

I'm watching SiCKO. Man, I've seen it before, but watching it again... holy crap. I want to live in Canada or France or the UK

There's this clip where a woman who is on stage with GWB says she works three jobs and he says "Isn't that just great? That's uniquely American," as if he's proud of that. Wow.

I won't go into everything that the doco goes into, because I'm not about bashing America. I like America. I think it can be a great country at times, and the people are great as well. So I just won't go into what I think is wrong with America.

So anyway, From The South. South Auckland. Southern hemisphere, even.

Yep.

That's all for now.

Peace.

*edit* Oops, that's not all for now.

So I wrote a follow up to Hobbies (which I think I'm going to re-title "Bad Habits"). If you want to read it, just let me know and I'll send you a copy via email or something, because it's way too explicit to put on here. In fact, I don't think anyone here would want to read it.

Basically it follows David's day (some of it) leading up to his encounter with the unnamed kidnapper.

I tried my hand at drawing said kidnapper, but it didn't turn out so great.

*edit*
Okay, just another thought that doesn't need a new post. I've been interested in psychopathy for a while now. I don't know the exact reason it interests me so much, but one thing I do know that interests me about it is the lack of empathy that psychopaths have, or don't have.

The reason I bring this up is because after the doco, my mum said "What I don't get is how can people just not treat these sick people. Just throw them out in front of a hostel. Just put them in a cab, and throw them on the street." And honestly, it does seem unimaginable. If you had the ability to make someone better, but they weren't able to pay you, would you in all good conscious turn them away? The choice between whether they live or die is yours, would you be able to choose to let them die? I'm willing to be most people would say no.

There are people who are regarded as functioning psychopaths. That is psychopaths who are able to live their lives without being violent. Instead, they're just people who are ruthless in their endeavour to get what they want. In fact, it's postulated that a number of successful business men have psychopathic tendencies.

It's my opinion that somewhere along the chain in the U.S. healthcare insurance game that there are a number of people with psychopathic tendencies, namely a severe lack of empathy, that allows these crimes against humanity to take place. This is not a criticism of America, or their healthcare per se, because psychopathy occurs everywhere. I think it's a matter of understanding.

If there's one question that I'm constantly asking myself everyday, it's this:
"Why don't I have a monkey in my trunk (or boot for brits/aussies/kiwis)?"

Well, apparently a company over in the states is providing an answer to this dilemma, by saying "Then just HAVE one, bro!"

You guys are so lucky. (And why don't we have a [YOUTUBE] tag yet?)

Well that image didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to. It looks better bigger.

Oscars... I started watching them, but they just bored me after a while. Jon Stewart... I'm sorry man, this wasn't your night. Given more time, I'm sure it would have been better, but oh well. At least it wasn't as bad as when Letterman hosted

The interesting thing about the Oscars was seeing all the old clips. I got the sense that those people were having a lot more fun than everyone else at the Oscars were. The Oscars have become so serious compared to the clips they showed. It's like no one can just be silly any more. I don't know if they did this back in the day, but I have an idea for what they could do to make it fun again. Serve alcohol! Sure you might have some mishaps, but they'd be entertaining mishaps! You might even get the one thing everyone hopes for when watching the Oscars, a losing nominee who gets visibly angry on camera!

Alcohol - nature's laughing gas... for other people.

Gratz on the new blog. BTW, the Oscars are a joke, I didn't even bother to find out when they were this year. I heard something about them this morning... that's the only reason I knew they went down.

Cheers.

Yeah, the Oscars kind of suck now. They could be great though. Just need some alcohol

I haven't been in a blogging mood lately. All three (well, four really, but I don't really update one that often anyway) have remained updateless for the last couple days. I don't know why really. I think I'm still trying to grasp what I learned in my last therapy session. One last session left, got to make it count.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should stick around here or not. It'd be one less thing to update, for sure. But if I leave, then I'll lose contact with everyone who I even had a semblance of friendship with. And it wouldn't be for lack of trying, it's just you have to work so much harder, to the point where you question if it's even worth it. Sounds a bit like a long distance relationship, but that's exactly what it is.

But really, I think I'm using this to mask what I'm really dealing with.

So, we come to a standstill once again. Brrrrat!

K-Dizzle,

I have no idea what you're going through, but it must be tough. I hope your last session goes well.

Also, if you decide to leave I wont be the only one who will be saddened.

Dude. I had no idea this was here. Argh.

I have not seen Sicko yet. I live somewhere that health care is not much of an issue. People get taken care of, sometimes beyond what is reasonable. It is good stuff.

I would certainly miss you if you left, but I would also understand completely.

I think the Oscars are complete rubbish these days.

I don't remember what it was like before (because I never watched them, and still don't), but I remember a lot of people saying that the Oscars didn't mean anything anymore when Titanic won all those awards in '97.

Cheers man. Yeah, like I said, I think I use the decision to leave CGR as a distraction from whatever's really bothering me.

I know I was only a kid when he used to do it, but I always loved it when Billy Crystal hosted the Oscars. But watching those clips from the Bob Hope days, it looked like they had way more fun than people have nowadays at the Oscars.

I totally won a competition over on my other blog! Woo! I won a book, and some other awesome stuff.

Wow. I still haven't even broken a page yet

So I'm sick with a cold. Which not only sucks, it double sucks. I was going to make this meringue cake thing. I don't know what to call it. It'll be 4 layers of meringue with either whipped ganache or chocolate pastry cream between them, and then Chantilly cream to cover it all. Maybe some shaved chocolate on top, or a dusting of cocoa.

Ya...I totally thought you just dropped off the face of the earth. I was sad. Until your PM made me.

I like that picture you drew...that is honestly amazing. I can't draw even a fraction as well!

And I hope you won't leave. I'd be sad. For real. And you don't come on MSN anymore.

And colds suck....we have this stomach flu/bad cold making rounds...for like, the 3rd time in our area.

you sneaky person you!

I must admit, your identity crisis confused me ever so slightly, but didn't surprise me. and I hope that if you do leave here, you'll keep in touch. (shoot, my offer to show you and your buddies around some part of this great state still stands if your trip is still on.)

and I hope that you are able to face whatever it is that's plaguing you.

Well, I did drop off the face of the earth into space, but then gravity was all like "Dude, that's not even possible."

Cheers. It helps if you look at some tutorials, and then use some photos as references.

I go on MSN sometimes. It's just I'm not on for long, and it usually in the evening here (really early morning your time).

Cheers, Sabrina. The offer is still much appreciated I'll keep you updated on that (it's kind of up in the air at the moment. Still hoping it's going ahead, but not 100% sure.)
