Read Psalm 139, especially verses 13-16:

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous--and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (NLT)

God planned each day of your life before you were born... how awesome is that?? That's where a lot of my stance on abortion comes from. People use the excuse that "it's just a fetus, not a baby"... but long before that child was conceived, God knew him or her, He watched as he or she was being formed.

Besides, if it's legal to kill a baby just before it's born, why not just afterwards? A year later? Two?? How can one be legal and the other not?

Good luck on your paper.

Well, if you are talking about abortion relating to teens, you should dispel the myth that having a baby will "ruin your life." there are so many options today...home tutoring, correspondense courses, etc. that most teens who have babies shouldn't have to stop thier education. Also, adoption is an option. It probably wouldn't hurt to bring up the fact that only rarely does rape result in pregnancy due to the stress placed on the body (to match the "what if she's raped?" argument.) Having a baby will leave a teen with a lot of questions. So does abortion. Abortion is also not risk-free--particularly the RU-486 pill, which has side effects ranging from severe ______l bleeding to death. Those are just some broad ideas...I hope they help. Good luck!

PS--shouldn't this go in Homework?

As one who is in the field of medicine, I am convinced that if all women who were considering an abortion were fully explained how an abortion takes place and what happens there way less aborted babies. Look into the processes of different styles of abortions. WARNING: not for the weak of stomach. Gross things never bother me, but I nearly ralph every time I study abortions.

Abortion is the act of taking the life of an innocent child of which you have no right to take. It is a cruel act of cowards, because the mother thinks that there is no other option. The reason that so many people support abortion is that people only think about the pregnant women’s rights, and not the unborn child’s rights. To say that killing a baby is okay because a mother has the right to choose is the same thing as saying that a murderer can murder someone because he has the right to do whatever he wants, regardless of anyone else. Another argument for abortion is that a pregnant women’s health is often at stake, and that getting ride of the fetus would reduce a risk of the mother’s death. The truth is that 100% of the time there is an abortion someone dies. Only a small percentage of mothers die from not having an abortion. Abortion does not just get rid of a fetus or a blob of tissue, it kills an innocent human being who just wants to live. Fetuses are not “less of a human” simply because they are smaller or younger, just like tall, older people are not “more human” than teenagers. It is clear that fetuses are humans, so abortion is just another term for murdering babies. In conclusion, abortion is taking away the right of life of an unborn, innocent, helpless child, and it should not be allowed.

That is what I have now... any ideas, comments, etc.?
