Forest fire/Coworker's daughter's house

Just was posting this to ask for prayer for my area, Roanoke, due to the forest fire we've been having since yesterday. It's already consumed 2,000 acres, and, while the county's website says homes aren't really threatened, a coworker's daughter's house has had fire within a few hundred feet of it a few hours ago when she got a call, and I'm not sure about now. The family has a newborn, as well as two other kids, and they're staying to try to protect their home. Please be praying for them.

Also, about 27,000 people in the area are power-less, and they'll possibly have to wait until Friday for it to be restored. About 48,000 state-wide are without power. Just please be praying for God's peace and provision, or however you feel led.

Thanks.

Well, the county's saying that the fires are no longer threatening houses at all, so I believe that means her house was spared. Praise God! They said fires got as close as five feet from some houses!

So far, it's burnt 2,400 acres and is only 10% contained. The rain we've been having recently has helped slow it down, but it's not enough to stop it.
