Very nice! This makes me want an acoustic very badly! Great job!

Not bad. Half way through though, you need to just jump up, kick the chair aside and rock it.

Very nice - I like the voicing of the G (technically, I think G6) chord you used at the end of the phrases. Looks like you were having a good time, very natural.

Sounds good to me. I'm always impressed by anyone playing Travis-style guitar so consider me a fan.

Nicely done.

I like how people always think that clapping along to the music makes it better. If it needed hand-claps, it would have been written with them.

Thanks guys!

gomilton,
It's funny you mention that. I played in a Christian rock band for the past 13 years. Grew up on Chet Atkins, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, learned to play guitar with my teeth, behind my head, etc. But this is where my heart lies - solo acoustic guitar. As soon as I figure out how to make my own videos I'll post some original stuff that I need to get on tape.

Very nice - I like the voicing of the G (technically, I think G6) chord you used at the end of the phrases. Looks like you were having a good time, very natural.

nate95366,
Thanks! Actually the chord is a G7 +6 (G7 on the bottom three strings with D on the second string added on top.

That's awesome dude! You're doing the Rev. Gary Davis version right?
Sean.thomson,

Thanks, Sean. You know I've hear of Rev. Gary Davis for years but I have never heard him play. On thumbstyle my influences have been Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Jerry Reed. And come to think of it, I honestly don't remember where I heard the version I play as I have never heard any of the three above play it.

Thanks again to all!

God bless!

You might want to check him out, his Finger pickin' style is amazing! Also he has a lot of gospel songs that he plays that are just awesome.

Here's a vid if you want to check it out...

I really liked it. The church looks familiar, too.

Your Dad wasn't a famous Mail Man by any chance? Was he?

Almost every time people start clapping in church, a good portion of folks get off, but it wasn't too bad there
