Speak French with me?

Hello,

I am still looking for someone to communicate with me in French. It is said that the best way to learn a language is to practice speaking - and often. Adding to that of course is the reading and writing.

My level is beginner stage. Please let me know if you will converse with me though it will take me a while to understand everything you are asking

I parle absolutely no Francais, but... we do have a few member here who speak French fluently/natively. I'm sure they'll find this thread eventually. Just give it some time.

In the mean time, I just want to say that I think it's great you're trying to learn another language. Too many people in our hemisphere (I'm from the US, don't let my current location fool you) are satisfied with just knowing one.

You could also try checking out one of the numerous websites designed to create language exchanges:

I haven't used all these myself, but I'm sure some of them are quite useful.

Some other things you might find interesting:
http://www.global-itv.com/index.php (Should let you watch TV in French, but you can probably do that in Canada anyway.)
http://lingro.com/ (Like Google translate somewhat, but instead of translating a site, it will make every single word clickable, and then when you click the word, it'll give you a definition. Then, it'll let you review all the words you clicked. It's great for helping you read texts in your target language.)

I took three years of French in high school and that's pretty much the extent of what I remember, sorry.

"They" happen to be right. You have to speak it to learn it. And hearing it also helps. Thanks to the internet, both are a lot easier. How exactly do you want to speak with us? To give a suggestion, you can record short audio files, and post them. Or you can open a YouTube account, record a video (or use Windows Movie Maker to mix a recorded audio file with a blank screen, if you don't want the world to know who you are), or I can give you my MSN. I can't guarantee that I'll always be on, but I'll make the tools available if someone can benefit from them.
