Overall I was a little disappointed by the second half of the album. I can't stand listening to Tony the Tiger and The River could be a lot better than it is. In My Teeth and Everything to Nothing also feel a little weak to me. However, every other song really rocks and I guess that a record with 7 good songs out of 11 is excellent. | ha! How coincidental. I am seeing them the day before you are!

| Saw them last night, it was awesome. I was disappointed that they didn't play Colly Strings, I was a Lid, or Sleeper 1972, but Hull did play an awesome version of The Only One by himself. Other than that they played all the songs you listed plus I Can Barely Breathe and Now That You're Home.
It was definitely one of the best concerts I've been to. |

| Nice, I'm jealous that you got "The Only One" but glad he played "Sleeper 1972" at mine. They do put on a wonderful show.

It was so e-p-i-c (rofl, not sure why the word e-p-i-c is censored) it hurt. The little bit at the end with the few measures of silence gave me chills. Complete silence in the venue, which isn't something I hear very often.
And for anyone that wants to check it out, here is Where Have You Been from the Social, 6-3-09. Pretty good audio and decent video. |

| I saw them again at the beginning of March, and despite playing at a terrible venue they were still awesome. Both times I've seen them headline they play what must be a ten minute long version of Where Have You Been, and I'm always disappointed when it ends. |

| I'm listening to the Virgin Losing A Child . . . right now, it's not too bad right now. Reminds me of a few emo and indie bands.

Now that You're Home and I Can Barely Breathe became epic after I saw them play in a small venue. And watching them play Where Have You Been is always awesome.
Really what I think makes their concerts for me is that it seems like literally everyone there knows all the words to every song. It feels more like Manchester Orchestra is leading a choir and we are all in it together.
I also feel like Andy's lyrics go a lot deeper than other bands with a similar sound. It's nice to hear music like this dealing with issues other than girls and heartbreak.
On another note, Andy said in a recent interview that he will have a new Right Away Great Captain album coming out and that the band will be working on a new album this summer. |

| No way....I am wearing a Manchester Orchestra shirt right now! I got it at a Brand New concert.
The only stuff I've heard by them is off of Mean Everything to Nothing, which I liked. I need to listen to it a little more though.

| Anyone checked out the new songs?
So Manchester Orchestra tweeted last week that Andy's wife's school (she's a teacher) was having a contest to see who could get the most postcards sent to them. If you mailed her a postcard then Andy would call and sing you a song of your choice. Last night he called my girlfriend and sang Jude Law and a Semester Abroad (off of Brand New's first album). I'll try and get the audio and post it up here. |
