Drum Machines

Hey, could anyone recommend good drum machine that's free? I would need it to be able to play metal so double bass would be nice. I googled it I just could find anything.

Free drum machine? They have those? I guess the best free drum machine is yourself. Provided you have drums of course.

I have a free one. Well, he's not free since he usually raids my refrigerator or sticks me with the tab for dinner or makes some kind of mess. At least he's house broken. I've known a few that had a problem in that area.

A drum machine is nice as a substitute metronome but I can't see actually playing with one. A real drummer is aggravating enough.

I once got to go to a clinic put on by Terry Bozzio back in the eighties. He was pimping some kind of drum machine, I think it was produced by Roland. Anyway. He made it known in no uncertain terms that a drum machine is useless unless the guy programming it knows how to get the sounds. One of his cases had a bumper sticker on it that said "Listen to Disco tonight, Put a Drummer out of Work Tomorrow" or some such slogan. It was a great afternoon.
