I'm with ya dude. This sucks especially being a Phillies fan. But I'm gonna go against the Philadelphia way here and be a little optimistic. I don't think this improves the Mets all that much. It probably adds 6-7 games to their record. And they traded away their already horrible farm system, and they have to still sign him for at least 150 million. Also, he appears to be declining somewhat. His ERA raised .5 runs last year, and there has been confirmed reports that his velocity is declining due to his really heavy workload over the past couple years.

I still think he is an amazing pitcher, don't get me wrong, but I just don't this makes the Mets a lock for the division for the next 7 years or however long his contract is. And both the Phillies and Braves are still very good teams.

Yeah i agree.I hope he does decline and i feel that the Mets might have tried to make a run at 1 or 2 divisional titles while the rest of the the divison(except the Nats) are stocked with good young talent.(Phillies with Howard and Rowand,Braves with Escobar and traded for Teixeira [not to mention we have a great farm system],and the Marlins with Cabrera,Ramirez, and Uggla.)I think next year will be a close division race.

I was disappointed right away, being from MN, but the Twins have done very well in their trades especially when compared to the success they have had with their free agent signings so we will just have to be patient and see how these guys turn out.

Yeah I agree. (Although the Phils don't have Rowand anymore, and Howard is in a contract dispute, but they do have Utley, Rollins, Victorino, Ruiz, Hamels, Myers, and some decent pitching in the minors. And the Marlins don't have Cabrera anymore.) I think next year will be fun to watch. I think the Nats and Marlins are gonna be at the bottom of the barrel, escpecially with the Marlins' most expensive player making like 3M. I think the Braves will be pretty good, and granted I don't know quite as much about them as I do the Phils and Mets, but I think this will be a two-horse race. I think it will be really close, and i think they both will make it to the playoffs at this point. I believe the teams out west will probably beat each other up and only the winner will make it, and the Central kind of sucks.
