| Photo Challenge #5 1/11-1/24 VOTING Quote:
Painting with light.
Every camera should have a manual setting. Use a tripod or find a steady place to set your camera and set the shutter speed for a long exposure (usually this'll be done in a dark room or at night if outside).
Take a flashlight or an external flash (or any light source you want) and get creative with how you use the light on your subject.
Make sure your subject is in focus. No blurry photos should be accepted for this. The point is to get a good image and learn control of your camera, lighting and subject.
| Voting should be based on adherence to the criteria, creativity and how well the photo catches your eye.
Winner will choose the next challenge.
Voting ends Feb. 1st. Ryan Freeland Dogfood ApparentlyNothing Airsoft Sniper (I took the liberty of picking one for you) Jump5fan RipVanWinkle

| You know, if Dogfood's hand wasn't in his picture, it wouldn't even be a contest. It's an absolutely brilliant idea and it produced a picture which could not possibly have been created in any other way (aside from simply generating it in a computer). The hand itself, however, makes the picture, I dunno, a bit more like plain life.

| I like Rip's. Seems like one of the more purposeful and creative of the bunch. |

| Aww phooey, I took a set last night.
Oh well.
I'm voting for Jon, as I think he really did painting with light.
Jeff's is good, but I'd call it a multiple exposure shot. |

#6 | | Cool enough Administrator | To me, Jon's is best. His subject is in focus, as required. Dogfood also did a splendid job with the idea. I just like Jon's a hair better. |

| I would've voted for Airsoft Snipers if it had a subject in it. How'd you do that, by the way?

What got me was that the hand is all slimy (I know obviously it had the glow stuff on it so there was no way to avoid this) and looks kind of gross. If it weren't for that i would have gone with dogfood's.
