Gwen Stacy

This band is awesome. They remind me of newer Norma Jea, but a whole lot better. Their CD comes out in a short while if it's not out already. Check these guys out, they're the next "The Chariot".

Mild exaggeration, I think....but they're good though, and like the raspiness in their vocalist's scream.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to their cd too.

Hey, I know I exaggerate a lot when I make threads *Cough*apleaforpurging*Cough*, but this time I'm serious. The screamer scream is sick...

But can this band really create a song equal to Memphis?

Of course not. I never said they were as good as old-Norma Jean. I said THE CHARIOT. Obviously every song on BTMAKTC will never be topped by any song by Gwen Stacy.

I must admit, I like their name. I'll have to check them out.

I just bought their cd today. Holy balls. Friggin' amazing! His scream is wicked, and the few clean vocals they have sound wonderful! Almost every song is simply an intense breakdown! There is not one bad track.

I checked out some songs a few weeks ago, I really liked one, but overall, it's not anything amazing, stuff I wouldn't waste money on.
But, I see some people here who really think they are amazing, and those people usually have taste similar to mine, and professional judgement.
I'll check them out again and give them a close listen, maybe i'm missing something.

On a side note, a new Tooth and Nail band i'm really into right now is Secret & Whisper, definetly for fans of Saosin.

I just got their cd. Best cd I've bought since An Ocean Between Us.

It's awesome.

....And my day is ruined.....

Vocalist has been booted/quit.

He was easily in my top five fav. vocalists.

That sucks royally. I really don't see myself listening to this bands new material without him. I'm sure with a voice like that though, he find a new band on the cusp of making it.

So, they got yet another new vocalist. This one is the former vocalist from Oceana. So check their songs from The Tide if you want to know what he sounds like. He's still not as good as the original, but his voice does have a similar raspy quality to it.

Okay, geez. Oceana's vocalist was apparently just doing a fill in for the year.

So now they officially have Once Nothing's former guitarist Geoff Jenkins in the vocalist position. Here's their blog about it: Srsly.

If you have any concerns, rest assured, Gwen Stacy's sophomore album may be a pleasant surprise. That guy has some pipes on him. Here's his old band:

The Alexander Set

Hopefully they can keep it together this time...
