5.1 Surround Sound on PC

5.1 Surround Sound on PC
Hey,

I used to be able to play 5.1 through my computer using my 5.1 Creative Sound Blaster. I have set it up again but when I go to test it the LEFT FRONT speaker or the SUB wont transmit a signal ie wont work. I'm certain they are plugged in in the right spots so any suggestions would be appreciated. What is curious is that the LEFT REAR speaker works and so does the CENTER, which works on the same channel as the SUB. The speaker does work, I tried it on another channel and the cable is fine too.

maybe there is a problem with your sound card, have you made sure you have the most recent drivers and also uninstalled and reinstalled?

In addition to updating the drivers, have you tried using several programs to test the 5.1 sound? I know that some of my games won't play 5.1 through my particular sound card, I'll get a lot of left front, and not much else.

Thanks for your help. I reinstalled the drivers and tried it on a number of programs and no luck with either. I might also note that even in 2.1 settings this particular speaker doesn't work. The only thing I can think of is that the channel is just dead/broken/busted whatever. That sucks.
